VITA
Artem Lonhinov, born in Dnipro, Ukraine, began playing the violin at the age of four. After graduating with distinction from the Dnipro Music College as a violinist, composer, and conductor, he moved to Germany in 2014 to continue his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich.
Artem is currently working as a First Kapellmeister and Deputy General Music Director at Theater Freiburg. In the 2025/26 season, he will take on the musical direction of Verdi’s Rigoletto, Massenet’s Werther, the new production Europa, as well as a symphony concert and the New Year’s concert.

The soft, dark tone, the elastic dynamics of the woodwinds—classical clarity and great expressive flexibility defined this interpretation of Mendelssohn.
