In the European Workshop for Contemporary Music young musicians from Poland, Germany and other European countries develop important repertoire pieces of contemporary music, learn new playing techniques and premier works by young European composers. The ensemble is formed from around 25 young musicians every year. They meet regularly for one-week rehearsal phases, study a new concert program there and then perform it at the “Warsaw Autumn” and other European festivals. In addition to the musical program, the project focuses on cultural exchange.
The European Workshop is aimed in particular at advanced students who have an interest in New Music and who have some initial experience in performing contemporary works. The artistic director is Professor Rüdiger Bohn.
